PRIORITY SITES COMPLETES £7.7 MILLION INVESTMENT PROGRAMME FOR BARLBOROUGH LINKS
23 November 2007

• New business space adjacent to M1 now ready for occupation

England’s leading regeneration specialist, Priority Sites, has just completed a third and final phase of development at Barlborough, Links as part of a £7.7 million investment programme the developer has earmarked for the local area. The Midland Place scheme is strategically located adjacent to the M1 and will create 70 jobs for the local community when fully occupied

The third phase follows the success of two previous phases of commercial development in Barlborough, both of which are now both fully occupied.

The new speculative development comprises six hybrid units, ranging in size from 3,500 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft, that combine office accommodation on the first floor with significant ground floor space for light industrial or assembly purposes. The scheme also incorporates one 3,000 sq ft office building. The new buildings, which have achieved a ‘Very Good’ environmental rating according to the industry assessment method BREEAM*, are available for sale or let.

Karen McFarlane, senior development manager for Priority Sites, comments: “The scheme’s excellent location adjacent to junction 30 of M1, combined with a high quality build and a keen element of flexibility, has made it a very popular option with both local and national companies on the lookout for modern premises close to good transport links.

Over the past 4 years, we have worked closely with EMDA to develop over 102,000  sq ft of speculative business accommodation in Barlborough, which has in turn created employment opportunities for local people. We are delighted to have completed an investment programme that has had such a positive effect on the local economy.”

Following a recent open day event to unveil this final phase of business accommodation, interest has been high, with companies keen to snap up the flexible, strategically located business space.
