PRESTIGIOUS OFFICE SCHEME LAUNCHES ON HULL'S WATERFRONT
11 December 2007

On Tuesday 11th December, the Lord Mayor of Kingston- upon- Hull, Councillor Brenda Petch, joined several of the city’s business leaders and regeneration specialist, Priority Sites, to celebrate the official launch of the developer’s 35,000 sq ft prestigious office scheme, Two Humber Quays.

The £7 million scheme, which is assisting in the transformation of the Waterfront area of Hull lies adjacent to One Humber Quays, an office project brought forward by Hull Citybuild.  The urban regeneration company has also played a role in assisting Priority Sites in bringing their ambitious scheme forward, and Citybuild representatives will also attend the event.

Offering top grade office premises and a highly contemporary, innovative design, the building recently secured its first occupier, a major service industry company, who have taken 10,432 sq ft of the grade A office space.

A further 11 offices suites are currently available, ranging in size between 1,575 sq.ft through to 35,581 sq. ft, and enquiry levels are consistently high. It is anticipated that the project will create 250 jobs for the city when it is fully occupied.

At the event, the Mayor made a short address before unveiling a commemorative plaque. Other speakers included Priority Sites’ chief executive, David Carr.

David Carr commented: “This is a very exciting day both for us, our partners who have assisted in bringing this project to market, and the city of Hull.  The completion of Two Humber Quays marks another highly significant stage in the progress of Hull’s superb regeneration plans. We are delighted that it has already attracted its first occupier, and we are very confident that before too long we will be announcing more tenants who will ensure the future prosperity of the city and it population.”

John Boanas, development director of Priority Sites who has masterminded the project since planning was granted adds: “The scheme’s popularity demonstrates the requirement in Hull for modern, top grade premises as it enters a new generation of progress. There’s no doubt that quality buildings will continue to attract quality occupiers.   Its success is a great example of what can be achieved when the public and private sectors work together to pool their expertise and realise a vision.”

John Holmes, Chief Executive of Citybuild, said: “We are absolutely delighted to see the launch of Two Humber Quays, and congratulate Priority Sites on delivering such a first-class development for Hull. This gives us additional weight in competing for investment, providing Hull with the necessary standard of office space to allow its existing businesses to grow and to compete effectively with other cities to attract business relocation.”

Priority Sites has established a national reputation for delivering high quality office schemes. The company, a joint venture between the Royal Bank of Scotland and English Partnerships, recently completed its three millionth square foot of commercial floorspace at its NorthBank office scheme in Sheffield.  The developer specialises in assisting the country’s regional development agencies with the delivery of regeneration plans, by providing high calibre commercial developments that will directly facilitate job creation and boost the local economy.
