REPEAT SUCCESS RECIPE AT SHORTWOOD BUSINESS PARK 19 December 2007

- Priority Sites Commences Second Phase of Industrial Accommodation off junction 36 of the M1
Construction work has begun on phase two of Shortwood Business Park, which lies just off junction 36 of the M1 motorway on the Dearne Valley Parkway. The decision by leading regeneration specialist, Priority Sites to develop a new phase of industrial accommodation here follows the success of phase one which is now fully occupied.
The new phase will comprise 63,000 sq. ft of high quality industrial units ranging in size between 4,000 sq. ft and 10,000 sq. ft. The premises will be suitable for a wide range of businesses and operations, and will be marketed at local companies wishing to expand while staying in the area, as well as firms from outside the region requiring convenient motorway access. It is anticipated that the new development will be complete by Summer 2008.
Karen McFarlane, senior development manager of Priority Sites comments: “Phase One was very popular, and we will be repeating the recipe on this new phase with a view to attracting similar types of businesses.
“Many businesses are now realising that it’s financially within their reach to relocate to high quality premises in an attractive environment, near good transport and commuter links. The close proximity of Shortwood to the M1 is very appealing – it’s just a few minutes drive away, and many of our current occupiers have cited this as being a major contributing factor in their decision to relocate here.” Britcon (Scunthorpe) Limited are the appointed construction contractor on the project.
The scheme has been brought forward with the assistance of Objective One funding. Current occupiers at Shortwood include Monarch Indexing, Majestic Showers and Millbrook Healthcare.
The building consultant on the project is WM Saunders Partnership. Agents appointed to market the scheme are Knight Frank (0114 272 9750), and Chris Rowlands (01226 791984)
