FLEXIBLE BUSINESS ACCOMMODATION FLYING HIGH AT ROBIN HOOD AIRPORT 15 January 2008

Regeneration specialist Priority Sites is has commenced phase two of its Delta Court scheme on the Sky Business Park, adjacent to Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport, on the back of buoyant demand for the accommodation provided by phase one.
Already seven of the 10 industrial units within the first phase, comprising 53,000 sq ft of development, have been sold. Demand has been such that Priority Sites has now commenced construction of a 36,000 sq ft second phase of high specification workspace at the Park. Once completed, the Delta Court scheme is expected to support a total of 179 jobs.
Commercial operations around the regional airport have thrived since it was established, with businesses keen to take advantage of the excellent distribution links offered by the strategically located Business Park. Ian Brooks, of PPH Commercial (formerly Chappel and Co), the agent for the scheme, comments: “We have experienced buoyant sales on the first phase of development, which have been put down to both the excellent location and the high quality, flexible business space on offer. The completed industrial units have a relatively high office content - up to 25%, which provides a unique and flexible option for distribution and manufacturing-led businesses who require a reasonable amount of quality office space for their operations.”
The Glow Company, an importer, distributor and wholesaler of novelty products, has relocated to Delta Court, having purchased a 4,200 sq ft unit. The Glow Company’s managing director James Cameron explains: “We have moved from a 700 sq ft unit in Finningley village into modern premises that can incorporate both the sufficient capacity for storage and distribution, and our expansion plans which entail boosting staff numbers from six to eight in the near future.”
Lee Buchanan, Development Manager of Priority Sites adds: “We have responded to a wide range of business needs by providing industrial units ranging from the standard 10% office content up to 25% - this has undoubtedly contributed to the high demand for the units as potential occupiers search the market for quality, flexible working space, which seems to be in short supply in the area. “The second phase will bring forward some further, much-needed industrial accommodation to an area that boasts very good road links. We are already seeing strong demand for this second phase, four months prior to completion, with occupiers keen to take advantage of locating to a prosperous business park situated so close to a bustling airport and the major motorway links of the M18.”
Priority Sites, a joint venture company owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland and English Partnerships, has long been committed to the regeneration of South Yorkshire, with more than £70 million already invested in schemes at Doncaster, Dinnington, Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield. Most recently, the company’s third phase of development at West Moor Park in Doncaster has completed with only three of the 7 industrial units now remaining available. Whilst across the border at Barlborough Links, North East Derbyshire demand has been strong for a third phase of completed development, which comprises six hybrid and one office unit.
The developer has recently celebrated reaching 3 million square feet of commercial development, and is currently realising a number of projects across the South Yorkshire region.
