AGENTS APPOINTED TO MARKET SECOND PHASE OF SUCCESSFUL BARNSLEY SCHEME 19 May 2008

- Industrial Accommodation in high demand at Shortwood Business Park
Leading regeneration specialist Priority Sites has announced Chris Rowlands & Co. and Knight Frank as the appointed agents to market a second phase of commercial accommodation at Shortwood Business Park.
The new phase on the Business Park, which is conveniently located just off junction 36 of the M1, will comprise 63,000 sq ft of high quality industrial units, ranging in size from 4,000 sq ft to 10,000 sq ft.
The decision by Priority Sites to develop further commercial premises at the Park follows the successful completion of 59,800 sq ft of industrial accommodation, which is now fully occupied. It is anticipated that the new commercial space will be completed by October 2008.
The new premises follow a similar recipe to the existing units and will be suitable for a wide range of businesses and operations, from local companies wishing to expand, to firms from outside the region requiring convenient motorway access.
New occupiers wishing to take space at Shortwood Business Park will join firms such as Monarch Indexing, Majestic Showers and Millbrook Healthcare, who are now all trading from the Business Park.
Karen McFarlane, senior development manager at Priority Sites comments: “We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Rowlands & Co. and Knight Frank to market the scheme. Even before the build has been completed, we’ve seen a high level interest in the space. It seems potential occupiers are keen to take advantage of both a superb location and the real value for money that these high quality units offer.” Rebecca Schofield from Knight Frank, adds: “This is a prime location which offers a fantastic commercial base for both local and national firms. The first phase has proved very popular – a broad range of companies snapped up the premises to reap the benefits of Shortwood’s close proximity to the M1. We are confident that the units on this latest phase will be equally well received.
