FALMOUTH OFFICE SCHEME TOPS OUT
The provision of new office space at Falmouth has moved a step closer with a recent topping out ceremony marking the completion of the highest point of the 24,000 sq ft latest phase of development on the town’s business park.
Representatives from the scheme’s developer Priority Sites joined with contractor Kier Western and South West of England Regional Development Agency (RDA) to mark the milestone.
Appointed agent, Alder King, is receiving a strong level of interest in the four two-storey and six one-storey offices. Three units are already under offer ahead of the development’s completion this September, which will coincide with the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta, an event that both Alder King and Priority Sites are sponsoring.
Priority Sites, a joint venture company between the Royal Bank of Scotland and English Partnerships, was appointed to bring forward the workspace following a competitive tender process by the South West RDA.
Once complete, the £4.28 million scheme will provide workspace for around 100 people in the area, and much-needed quality modern office premises designed to suit start-ups and expanding businesses.
John Fox, area manager for Kier Western’s Truro office said: “We are delighted to be responsible for the design and build of this much-needed office space in Falmouth. These high specification units will enable businesses to develop, grow and compete effectively in today’s business environment whilst remaining local.”
Miles Carden, area development manager for Priority Sites added: “The offices are set to provide further impetus to Falmouth’s transformation as one of Cornwall’s key commercial hubs, by offering exactly the right type and quality of workspace.”
Stephen Bohane, head of business development for the South West RDA, said: “This is a high quality development on land owned by the RDA. Our role is to invest to unlock business potential and lead the development of a low carbon economy so we have worked closely with Priority Sites to ensure that this new workspace is built to high environmental standards and meets the needs of local businesses and inward investors.”
