SELBY BUSINESS PARK TO RECEIVE OFFICE SCHEME BOOST
- Leading Regeneration Specialist Develops 26,488 sq. ft Office Project
Selby Business Park is to receive a boost with the establishment of a high quality office development, Abbey Court. Regeneration specialist, Priority Sites has chosen a site adjacent to the New Country Inns 60-bed hotel development at the junction of the A1040 and the A63, to accommodate the scheme, which was granted planning permission in December 2007.
The developer has appointed York House Construction to carry out the construction of the scheme, which has recently started on site.
Abbey Court, a 26,488 sq. ft development, will boast 15 self-contained office buildings ranging in size from 1,404 sq.ft (130 sq m), to 2,427 sq. ft (225 sq.m). The buildings will be available on either a leasehold or freehold basis.
Adam Richardson, Development Manager for Priority Sites comments: “Traditionally, businesses that have outgrown their existing premises in Selby have relocated elsewhere, such as Leeds or York. However, Abbey Court will ensure that employment is retained and created in the local area, which is essential for the prosperity of the local economy. Because of this, Priority Sites has the support of Selby District Council in delivering this scheme.
“Abbey Court is ideal for local companies wanting to expand and relocate from their current premises into modern accommodation with the benefit of superb transportation links. Abbey Court fronts the A63 Selby Bypass which links to the M62 and the A19.This also provides companies from outside the area with a fantastic opportunity of relocating their business to Selby. The fact that these buildings are available to either lease or purchase enables businesses to have flexibility in the current credit climate.”
Priority Sites is a joint venture commercial development company between The Royal Bank of Scotland and English Partnerships, and has built over three and a half million square foot of commercial premises to date. The company works closely with Regional Development Agencies and Urban Regeneration Companies throughout England to deliver industrial, hybrid and office schemes that will accommodate local companies’ expansion programmes and attract inward investors in order to boost the local economies of towns and cities where there is a significant need.
